Big Tech Needs to become little tech

Wow, do I love this guy! I’m sure some of you out there would love to have this guy as your Governor instead of the douce bag you have. LOL. Sorry we won’t give him up. Maybe, just maybe, he should be our next choice for POTUS, we just have to come up with another party for I don’t believe he would go for the RNC as it is now run by an incompetent woman named Liz Cheney.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis launched an offensive against “Big Tech” on Tuesday, warning that the social media platforms are targeting politicians like former President Donald Trump now but will soon be coming for regular American citizens, vowing to combat the threat.

“Today they may come after someone who looks like me. Tomorrow they may come after someone who looks like you,” DeSantis, a Republican, said during a news conference outside the state Capitol as he announced the Transparency in Technology Act.

The governor said he intends to “protect privacy” from the “oligarchs in Silicon Valley”  – Google, Facebook and Twitter – because the platforms have “changed from neutral platforms to enforcers of preferred narratives.”

“I’m committed to addressing what may be one of the most pervasive threats to American self-government in the 21st century,” he said.

He singled out Twitter for suspending Trump’s account “due to the risk of further incitement of violence” after Jan. 6’s Capitol riots and Amazon closing its servers to the social media alternative Parler.

“What about the 88 million Americans who chose to follow Donald Trump? Sorry. Content moderators on Twitter pulled the plug,” DeSantis said.

After Twitter suspended Trump’s account, many of his followers turned to Parler, hoping to express their opinions and beliefs in a less-regulated environment, until tech behemoths turned against it.

“What really scared me was the decapitation of Parler,” he said. “Big tech has come to look more like big brother with each passing day.”

As an example of big tech intervening to block information they disagreed with, Desantis mentioned The Post story from October about Hunter Biden’s foreign dealings blocked by Twitter.

“The Hunter Biden story was true. The typical corporate media outlets chose to ignore it. They wanted to beat Trump,” he said, adding that the report about President Biden’s son “couldn’t get any traction” weeks before the election.

He said reporters wouldn’t have hesitated to go after him if he were the subject of the same story.

“You’re trying to tell me if there’s hacked information that could damage me, you guys wouldn’t print it? Give me a break.” DeSantis said. “You guys would print it every single day if you could. And Big Tech would allow it to proliferate 24/7.” Note, he is always at war with the press nerds

As part of his measure, DeSantis suggested fines of $100,000 per day for de-platforming political candidates, as well as daily fines for any company “that uses their content and user-related algorithms to suppress or prioritize the access of any content related to a political candidate or cause on the ballot.”

The Governor also called for allowing people to opt-out of content algorithms, requiring notification about changes in terms of service and providing the right of citizens to take legal action if these conditions are violated.

DeSantis announced that under his policy, the Florida AG would be empowered to bring cases against tech companies under the Unfair and Deceptive Practices Act.

“Floridians should have the privacy of their data and personal information protected, their ability to access and participate in online platforms protected, and their ability to participate in elections free from interference from Big Tech protected. What began as a group of upstart technology companies from the West Coast has since transformed into an industry of monopoly platforms that monitor influence and control the flow of information in our country and among our citizens,” DeSantis said.

“The core issue here is this: are consumers going to have the choice to consume the information they choose, or are oligarchs in Silicon Valley going to make those choices for us?”

Flyers or Faggots?

Another good one from my friend and our fellow Marine brother, Greg who certainly has a way with words. Amazing that it takes a Russian to remind us who were are and what we stand for.  Surely the Philadelphia Flyers of the NHL don’t know who they are or what they are supposed to stand for as role models.  Maybe they should change their name to the  Philadelphia Faggots – the pride of the city of Brotherly Love. I wonder what their attendance record is for home games?

The DIE penalty box
By: G. Maresca

On a recent mild January evening in the City of Brotherly Love, the affection of one home team NHL player was anything but mild. A firestorm of disgruntled wrath erupted upon Ivan Provorov, a Russian native and a defenseman for the Philadelphia Flyers, compliments of the LGTBQ+ agenda and their woke confederates of the diversity, inclusion and equity crowd (DIE).

It reminded me of the old standby: I went to a hockey game and a boxing match broke out.  However, this fight underscores how secular humanism is attacking religiosity for the cultural soul of the American nation.

Provorov, a Russian Orthodox Christian, refused to wear a “Gay Pride Night” jersey with the rainbow flag or use a rainbow-taped hockey stick during warm-ups before the game. “I respect everybody, and I respect everybody’s choices,” Provorov said following the game. “My choice is to stay true to myself and my religion.” It is the gay lobby and their media allies who couldn’t help themselves in falling over each other making a huge issue over why one player decided not to conform and prostrate himself to the LGTBQ+ agenda.

Provorov is not making a stand saying gay pride night should not be held. He is merely exercising his right to decide and be left alone. Being compelled to support the tenets of a faith other than his own is as un-American as it gets – until now. No one should have to be a billboard for another’s political, social, or religious beliefs.

Symbols of faith, freedom, and courage are rare in contemporary American society and yet it is a Russian, no less, who is the model of strength and conviction in this torrid era of national wokedom.  This is why many supported him on several websites by selling out his jersey.

Provorov takes all the risk as standing tall against the leftist mob takes plenty of puck. Most would rather not jeopardize being maligned and browbeaten. Provorov spoke for others without the courage of their convictions, while expressing one of the basic dogmas of Christianity: “love the sinner, hate the sin.”

Since inclusivity is the goal, perhaps the Flyers will host a “Christian night” where players will wear jerseys saying: “Jesus Saves?”  What about “MAGA hat night,” too?

A truly free society does not mandate that their citizens conform to any agenda that forsakes their own believes and traditions. Such hollow virtue signaling only serves to chip away and rust our liberty. The fact that so many are unable to differentiate between honoring one’s country and applauding who people sleep with says much about how distorted our values have become.

First comes the demand for tolerance, then comes acceptance, followed by celebration, and finally mandated participation.  The perpetually aggrieved and offended are never satisfied, provided they do not get their way they move on to the next outrage and repeat the process over again.

As a nation we are consumed in a protracted episode of the Twilight Zone, where it is heroic to disrespect and protest the American flag, while hoisting and paying homage to the gay pride colors is not only expected but unquestioned.

The LGTBQ+ movement is not merely about acceptance of certain sexual proclivities and gender identity with preferred pronouns; rather it is a wholesale secular religion that must be acknowledged over one’s own religious and conscientious beliefs. The great marketing ploy that LGTBQ+ is about “love” is a canard in the first degree. Although they preach tolerance and acceptance, they embody the exact opposite provided you dare to disagree.

The harassment of Provorov violates our Constitutional rights. These are the same rights that leftists shove in your face when convenient for them. Provorov understands America better than the many who thrive on victimization and outrage. With his Russian roots, he knows all too well about Marxism’s groupthink.

Provorov deserves respect, not ridicule.

It has never been about tolerance, diversity, or equity.  Rather, it is about submission and conformity. If it were about inclusion, the left would acclaim Clarence Thomas, Amy Coney Barrett and Thomas Sowell.

They don’t.

They disparage them.

Sadly, we have devolved into what we once condemned and fought against, and it has taken a Russian to remind us.

I certainly have not forgotten what I abhor and am against, and I surely do not need a Russian to remind me – do you?

I’m Sick!

Have you ever thought about the idea, what if your mother was not pro-life? I know that is meant to be somewhat of a joke, but think about what is actually going on in our country today. I cannot believe some states are killing babies in the last trimester, some just weeks before they are to be born. Unbelievable. These democratic scum have no morals at all; it’s all about the woman’s right to choose whether to give birth to this “thing” or not,  and that’s exactly how one must think of it — a “thing.” Yet they can’t even define what is a woman. I’m sick over this whole issue.

Criminal from the gate

Of all the columns this space has hosted through the years, abortion has received plenty of ink.

Why?

Abortion gnaws at the American conscience because Roe v. Wade that codified this horrific procedure into law was the most egregious decision ever rendered by the U.S. Supreme Court. As a result, 65 million lives have been lost and counting. If leftists were honest, they would admit abortion is unconstitutional and a legal abomination – a result of judicial activism – that must be undone.

The left remains in a tizzy over the continued slaughter of babies and reveres abortion as American as methadone, shoplifting, and welfare. Leftists claim this gruesome procedure is healthcare for women, when they cannot even define what a woman is.

For the left, life begins not at conception but when you vote Democrat.

The war on the baby opened up a second front as the nation experiences a shortage of baby formula. A recent News-Item poll found that the majority believe abortion will return to the states, but most disconcerting was the 19% who did not care either way.

Memo to the left: provided the Supreme Court holds fast and overturns Roe, it will not end their most profane sacrament. Rather, abortion will be in the hands of the states and their elected representatives like many other civil and criminal issues underscoring how all politics is truly local.

The Supreme Court’s unprecedented leak of Justice Alito’s draft would overturn Roe as his opinion is consistent with Constitutional originalism. Whomever leaked the draft wanted and received the backlash we have been witnessing in the hope of coercing the justices to reverse their decision, which is still an option.

Intimidating and threatening members of the Supreme Court at their homes is straight out of a banana republic. Such tactics fail the constitutional order and like abortion itself is un-American. What about the life, liberty, and happiness of the unborn, the most innocent among us?

The vandalism of several Catholic churches and pro-life centers nationwide occurred ironically during Mother’s Day weekend. They underscore how the Catholic Church has stood steadfast in defending the unborn. Anti-Catholicism is alive and well in 21st century America. Leftists are today’s exemplars of the 19th century’s Know Nothing Party.

Commenting on Alito’s opinion, President Biden remarked: “The idea that we’re gonna make a judgment that is going to say that no one can make the judgment to choose to abort a child … goes way overboard.” Biden, in his own jumbled and twisted way, admits that abortion kills a child. Those in cognitive decline tend to speak truths they comprehend.

Abortion is not a “Constitutional right,” but the poisoned fruit of the Sexual Revolution run amok.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer called Alito’s opinion a “dark and disturbing day for America,” while trying to codify Roe into federal law. From Schumer this is expected, but from Pennsylvania Democrat Sen. Robert P. Casey Jr., who has scandalously masqueraded as pro-life right up until he voted for the bill, it was not.

The bill did not pass.

Perhaps, the pro-aborts who made it this far can answer a few questions. The consequences of ending Roe will save more babies, so why is this such a terrible thing? Why are Democrats like Biden and Casey who both claim to be practicing Catholics so driven to defend abortion? Provided most Americans supposedly support abortion, why are you opposed to having each state vote on the issue? How long does God bless a nation that aborts the most innocent among us?

The right to control over our bodies is all the rage – except when it comes to vaccines, wearing masks and promoting adolescent transgenders.

Provided Roe is overturned women would not lose the right to vote, nor will the chains of slavery return. Alito’s spot-on opinion reconditions the Supreme Court to its founding role: an impartial arbiter of the law, rather than an activist judiciary beholden to the left.

The fight for life in the womb is far from over.

Abortion will remain legal in some form throughout our fruited plain for now. Provided Alito’s opinion holds, however, it is a large step in the direction of life and has leftist ideologues terrified.

I want to throw up! I say take these democratic bastards who are doing this out behind the barn and shoot them! There are Third World countries that don’t even do what we do. We live in a shit hole. God, where are you?

Come Fly With Me!

Trust me, you will love this short clip! A liberal couple get their justice, but not what they expected or wanted. I wish I knew what airline this was; I’d like to send them a congratulatory email and might consider flying with them every time I must fly!  Everything is all about them. I LOVE IT!!!

Wasn’t that great? I just love that the young man simply sits there calmly while this woman runs her mouth. Her meek,  whimpy husband sits there while she rants, then he tries to make amends.

LOL Damn, don’t you just LOVE IT?

Hidden in Plain Sight

Well, it’s Saturday and we wonder what the scum swamp creatures are up to? There’s not telling, nothing surprises me any more. Just read where the VP is not very well liked throughout the nation among both parties. Well, that’s no surprise since she only got 3% of the votes in the Dem primary amongst all those other duds.

Anyway, I digress and as you know I have chosen to not post any more about Joe and the “other” ones.

Today’s post is another from my good friend and frequent contributor Greg. Thank you sir.

Jimmy Carter is a retired peanut farmer and among historians is arguably one of the nation’s most maligned chief executives.  Current White House occupant Joe Biden has a trillion-plus-dollar “infrastructure bill” with only peanuts set aside for actual infrastructure that has the potential to change the relationship between government and the economy.

Democrats, beginning with FDR and the New Deal, refer to “infrastructure spending” as if it’s the magic elixir that will solve all of the nation’s fiscal and economic trials.

Back during the Carter years, we had gas lines, but they were not the result of a disabling cyberattack that occurred with the Colonial pipeline that was felt nearly instantaneously.  The circumstances may have been different, but the results were equally as devastating.

Owning a piece of the pipeline attack is the politically charged FBI and CIA and a socially woke corporate America that failed to secure and protect such sensitive infrastructure.

This latest manmade disaster only underscores how America’s enemies understand how vulnerable our infrastructure remains.  It is only a matter of time before another strike comes to fruition, but rather than shutting down a regional pipeline, how about hacking in and disabling the nation’s electric power grid?  Try going without electricity for a week and given the dated nature and vulnerability of our grid, the possibilities are not unthinkable.

One of the key ingredients why infrastructure gets neglected, or in many cases ignored, is that there remains little to no political pay-off to upgrading airports, repairing potholes or replacing bridges.  Juxtapose that to spending the same money building community centers, creating rails to trails and upgrading public swimming pools.  Such ribbon-cutting events provide politicians with plenty of favorable and free publicity. Nobody holds ribbon-cutting ceremonies for upgrading and securing computer software, milling roadways, and replacing sewer lines.

The threat of the power grid crashing like it did in Texas over the winter is quite real, but preventable.  Most, however, have no idea the severity of vulnerability under which we live.

The Task Force on National and Homeland Security is comprised of citizens, engineers, and field experts concerned about the vulnerability of our critical infrastructures.  It is an official Congressional Advisory Board that receives no federal funding and operates exclusively on donations. They have reported to Congress on several occasions that in the event of an Electro Magnetic Pulse attack, 70- 90% of Americans could be dead within a year.

And you thought COVID-19 was bad.

Minor negligence has a way of resulting in major consequences. As our country’s infrastructure continues to age — something America takes for granted — we will see more foundational systematic breakdowns.  Being attentive to our country’s infrastructure by advocating for its continued improvement is critical when it comes to working toward the common good and is everyone’s responsibility.

Why does it take several years to replace a bridge, when the Empire State Building was constructed in two years and during the Great Depression?  It is little wonder that Americans have lost faith in government institutions.

Government-funded projects often fail to live up to their lofty intent.  The problem is not that tax dollars are not being spent, but rather the money is being allocated and managed so poorly.  While it may sound costly, building resilient infrastructure will save plenty of money over the long term as it invests in the future.

Allow state and local governments to raise and spend money for their own projects making the case for what they really need, while freeing them from the tedious strings that always come attached to federal subsidies.

Infrastructure, like anything else in the physical world deteriorates and needs not only to be maintained, but at times, upgraded and improved.  It is important that elected officials understand public works are not just a short-term inducement or a vehicle for politically driven job creation.  The goal should be to create the best and broadest necessary infrastructure for the most responsible price.

Transforming and securing our national infrastructure is the best kind of financial stimulus since it supports all economic avenues.  There is no reason why we cannot build a better and smarter future for our children’s and grandchildren’s generation.

The nation’s subsistence depends on it.

Do some due diligence and you will be utterly shocked at how little money in that bill is actually going to fix our infrastructure. I did. WOW! How do you spell immigrants?
