On Report

OMG, all those years in the Corps and years after, I have never been put on report, that is until now. LOL I received an email this A. M. from a so called “Concerned marine; no caps on purpose as I do not consider this fellow a Marine, perhaps you might disagree. I won’t post my reply to him, her, or it. I thought I’d allow my followers to do so.  Please feel free to comment. Email follows. My comments inserted are in red..

Unlawful use of Marine Corps Emblem and Photo, Hate Speech, Racism, Borders of Sedition

Col Jim Bathhurst (sic) USMC Retired

https://wellalldieasmarines.net/

His blog prominently features a Marine Cops (Sic) Emblem and a possibly illegally copied photo from Headquarters Marine Corps.

His blog is filled with hate and racism. (really?) He brings discredit to the Marine Corps. His blog is close to sedition. He also peddles his book using the Marine Corps Emblem.

He and some of his followers are unhinged and I don’t need to have him or his screwballs coming after me so I will not put my name on this email. (that’s not something patriots do, that’s left for the liberals) He and his followers are similar to the Kooks who invaded the capitol last wee. (Sic) His website speaks for itself and it is a simple thing for you to see what he is doing.

Actually, It gave me an early morning chuckle. BTW, the use of the EGA was authorized by HQMC prior to the book’s publication.  I was aware of the Corps’ copyright on the use of EGA and requested permission; I still have their letter of authorization. Liberals just cannot stand for someone expressing the truth about them. Please feel free to comment either directly to him or on the blog, albeit, I’d like to see your replies. LOL You there Smitty?

Looking for a Christmas Gift

For a Marine (actually any service member or civilian who wants to know what a career in the Marines was (is) like?

Well, I have just the solution for you and there is still time if you hurry. It’s a book that will, for a Marine, rekindle many fond (and maybe not so fond LOL) memories. It’s called “We’ll All Die as Marines – One Marines Journey from Private to Colonel.” The author would be me. While I have severed the relationship with the publisher — which is a long story that I won’t get into — you can still get it on Amazon and Barnes & Noble at an exorbitant price. I sell both the hard and the soft covers (not really a paperback) for $35 & $30 respectively, personally inscribed and signed, and since it’s a present, I’ll eat the postage. You can go to Amazon, put in my name and it will take you to the book where you may read the reviews. You’ll have to hurry to get it for Christmas. Since you are now on my blog you may click on “Buy The Book,” fill out the form, and send it. It will come to me with your email address and I will shoot you off instructions, but you must hurry. Or  a faster way would be to simply email me at: sgt-b@comcast.net

Merry Christmas everyone and I wish you a Happy New Year. or let’s just say have the best new year you can, it will be rough with Joe and The Ho.

Remember the Chosin Few this Thanksgiving

November 25, 2020 at 7:00 a.m. EST

Seventy Thanksgivings ago, Pfc. Warren Wiedhahn was 21, far from home and freezing. During a winter of record cold, nighttime temperatures were more than 30 degrees below zero in the North Korean mountains. The day after Thanksgiving, as Wiedhahn peered at the ridge across the valley from his listening post, suddenly “whistles and bells and bugles” — modes of communication for a People’s Liberation Army that also used Mongolian ponies and camels — revealed that hordes of Chinese soldiers wanted to kill him.

He says he and his fellow Marines burned out the barrels of their machine guns and ran out of ammunition that day, and that much worse was to come. He had craved adventure, and found it.

Born in Upstate New York, too late for World War II, he, like many teenagers then, thought he had missed an adventure. And he thought his brother-in-law, who had been wounded at Guadalcanal, “looked good in his [Marine dress] blues.” So, Wiedhahn enlisted in the Marine Corps after his Methodist mother made him swear on her Bible that, after his three-year commitment, he would go to college.

His unit of the 1st Marine Division immediately plunged into combat at Pusan on the peninsula’s southern tip, where South Korean and U.S. forces were besieged. On Sept. 15, his regiment participated in the most daring operation of Gen. Douglas MacArthur’s 44-year career, the amphibious landing at Inchon, some 200 miles north of Pusan, near Seoul. And near North Korea, where MacArthur soon made the worst blunder of his career — dividing his forces while ignoring evidence that China would intervene in force.

MacArthur had told President Harry S. Truman at Wake Island on Oct. 15 that “organized resistance will be terminated by Thanksgiving.” Eager to reach the Yalu River along the North Korea-China border, MacArthur ordered the 1st Marine Division to make an amphibious landing on North Korea’s eastern shore and march north to the Chosin Reservoir.

Wiedhahn says “what saved us” in the fighting withdrawal from Chosin was “the World War II leadership,” the noncommissioned Marine officers who had fought from Guadalcanal to Peleliu to Okinawa. And Navy and Marine aircraft flying off carriers. In retirement, Wiedhahn still runs a tour business, taking veterans to battle sites from Belleau Wood in France to, next summer, Iwo Jima. On a trip to Beijing, he met four People’s Liberation Army veterans who had fought at Chosin. When he asked them what they had feared most, they instantly replied, “Your aircraft.”

Wiedhahn recalls that during two weeks of nonstop fighting, some of it hand to hand, during the march to safety, medics, overwhelmed by severely wounded Marines, had to practice triage medicine: Dying Marines, “put outside the tent, froze to death.”

Since ending a 32-year Marine career (mom was content when he became an officer) that included 1968-1969 near Vietnam’s demilitarized zone, Wiedhahn has lived in Northern Virginia, in a community with many immigrants from Korea — “all good friends and all good neighbors.” He is president of the dwindling ranks of “The Chosin Few,” the organization of that battle’s veterans.

Trim and energetic at 91, Wiedhahn had little to be thankful for 70 years ago. Today, his nation should give thanks for him and others like him, including hundreds who are still in North Korea’s mountain.

Sad Time for the Corps

I know you are probably expecting something from me concerning tomorrow. Well, what can I say except if you have not yet cast your ballot, get off your duff and go do it now! Tomorrow will be as we heard once before about a day living in infamy. Remember Martha and Vandellas’ “Dancing in the Streets”? Well, tomorrow there will be a new version called “Rioting in the Streets” Is your powder dry and your canteens full? In any event, it appears it will be a long night.

However, I digress as I have something very disturbing to post today that should be of interest to every Marine  on here, and even to members of the other services as well. It’s another from  Col Andy  that everyone needs to read so I shall not steal his thunder. It’s short, horrifying, and to the point. I have done the Marines a favor that took me a long time to complete. Once you click on the URL he has in his post, click on the one I have inserted in here. I have copied and pasted every Marine on the list thus saving you from having to go down the entire list looking for our “brothers” who have gone to the dark side. I wish I could say enjoy, but I cannot.

Thank you Andy!

May have to copy and paste in browser.

NFL – Does the “N” really stand for National?

If so, why?

I have not watched any NFL game since two years ago except the Super Bowl this past January, or was it February, hell, I don’t remember and really do not care. I refuse to spend the Lord’s Day watching scum sucking anti-Americana millionaires play with a ball and think they are heroes. Oh, I do watch college football , and I have my favorite teams e.g., Bama and the Volunteers for example. I doubt very seriously if I will see any knee bending or disrespect there, but one never knows??  I cannot and will not watch these scumbags taking a knee or disrespecting something I served for much of my life and for which I shed blood.

If any of you do watch the NFL, and I don’t have a problem with that — it’s your choice and I respect that, may I ask a favor? I would like to know if you see any advertisements from USAA. They have been my bank, mortgage company, brokerage account, IRAs, and insurer of home, boats, and cars for over 46 years. I do know they advertised last year, but I don’t know about this season. If they are doing that it would be the biggest example of hypocrisy I’ve ever witnessed. If I find they are advertising on the NFL network, the CEO will get a letter from me that will burn his hands while he reads it — guaranteed! And I just may pull all my accounts from them?I would like for someone to provide me a list of all the companies who advertise  NFL games. I will research them and get there contact information and publish on this blog in case anyone else wants to write them bitching and threatening to stop buying their product. We can write all the correspondence we want to addressed at the NFL and it will do no good. They must be hit in the pocketbook. I understand companies that advertise NBA games have already started complaining because they are not getting the viewership promised in their contracts. The NBA has already leaked out they intend to change things next season reference the outspoken scum like Lebron Scumbag James. We can do this folks, I know we can. Let’s become a united voice.

This video is a must watch, and if you are like me, you might need a Kleenex.
