Trey Gowdy Again

This is has been flying around the internet for a few days now, and I just love it, so I had to post it for those who have not seen it yet. Let me say from the very beginning, I am not a huge fan of Trey Gowdy. Oh, I do enjoy watching him rip new holes in some of the jerks who appear before him in his subcommittee, but I often wonder if that isn’t for show, as I never hear of him doing anything about the travesties he spouts out about at hearings. Anyway, if the quotes below really came from his lips, and knowing him I have no reason to doubt they probably did, then I must say, he nailed it in plain English that any idiot ought to be able to comprehend. How can anyone with a rational mind find argument with anything stated? What is wrong with these liberals? They obviously have a completely different opinion of what the military is supposed to do for this country. Amazing.

Nobody has a “right” to serve in the Military. Nobody.

What makes people think the Military is an equal opportunity employer? Very far from it.

The Military uses prejudice regularly and consistently to deny citizens from joining for being too old or too young, too fat or too skinny, too tall or too short.

Citizens are denied for having flat feet, or for missing or additional fingers. Poor eyesight will disqualify you, as well as bad teeth. Malnourished? Drug addiction? Bad back? Criminal history? Low IQ? Anxiety? Phobias? Hearing damage? Six arms? Hear voices in your head? Self-identify as a Unicorn?

Need a special access ramp for your wheelchair? Can’t run the required course in the required time? Can’t do the required number of pushups?

Not really a “morning person” and refuse to get out of bed before noon?
All can be reasons for denial.

The Military has one job. War. Anything else is a distraction and a liability.
Did someone just scream “That isn’t Fair”? War is VERY unfair, there are no exceptions made for being special or challenged or socially wonderful.

YOU change yourself to meet Military standards. Not the other way around.
I say again: You don’t change the Military… you must change yourself.
The Military doesn’t need to accommodate anyone with special issues. The Military needs to Win Wars.

If any of your personal issues are a liability that detract from readiness or lethality… Thank you for applying and good luck in future endeavors. Who’s next in line?

    1. And you know that because……..? I did not say he said it, full disclosure on here sir. Furthermore, I really don’t care who said it, may have been anybody; however, it’s all true and factual.

  1. I don’t think just anyone belongs in the military, you cannot be a snow flakes, you cannot analyze your action before you make a decision, it can be disastrous to other people. During the war, l did not wait for the bomb to hit the ground to take shelter. No transgender, no homosexuals, only men or women that are able to fight. Plenty jobs for snowflakes ? the Army, Navy, Air Force Special Forces is not a Kinder garden for people who wants to find themselves? .

  2. Colonel Jim, you made a good point about Gowdy…no real substance to his rhetoric. As Mustang said, just another politician…talk the talk but not the walk. Politicians say what we want to hear…but very little results…drain the swamp!’

  3. Trey seems to have an ability to express himself..(very well) and do it..not nearly as condescending or reckless as ME!! (I’m usually over the top..when I verbalize against a real idiot!! I applaud Trey for reaching out and “jap-slapping” some of these idiots..(male and female)..that are so much out of touch with normal, common sense..our conservative values! His outspoken opinions are usually ‘just great’..for me! But..I must admit that there is little, or ‘no’ middle ground with the way he retaliates against some of these a-holes! I do hope that he attempts to fix some of these actions rather than to just letting them lie there and remain part of our cultural problem! God only knows..we, and our culture, really needs all the help..we can give it..

  4. I agree with you Jim; Gowdy is good, but he’s a politician and speaks to his crowd. This isn’t bad, of course … but like you, I wonder, “Where’s the beef?”

    1. JIM:

Great that you posted that discussion by Gowdy (Those words were his, right? See my comments below.) concerning the “right” to join the United States military.

President Trump struck a blow at those liberal scallywags Obama and Trashcan Carter! I was wondering if he would–I am glad that President Trump acted decisively, but I was disappointed in Mattis, Kelly, et al, for hanging back to “study it further–six more months.” I was expecting more from UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS COMBAT GENERALS.

On August 3, 2017, the latest edition of the National Review published a series of articles concerning the subject and all the hub-bub from the liberals about their “rights,” etc. The foremost article is “Rights are Rights, and Military Service Isn’t One” by Philip H. Devoe. I found it interesting that what Gowdy said was strikingly similar to what Devoe wrote.

Besides Devoe’s, there are three other excellent articles in the same edition analyzing the situation, all of them somewhat on Trump’s side of the argument. But you can bet that President Trump has gotten scads of panties in a bunch of all those “light-stepping” Bruce/Caitlin Jenner types and their very vocal and belligerent leftist supporters of the ultras-liberal, there’s-almost-no-boundaries-remaining, left-wing socialists (Democrats), especially those in Washington, D.C., on the majority of our college campuses here in the United States, and the MSNBC/CNN’s of the East Coast’s vilely biased media—all trying to instill their social engineering agenda on the military.

I am glad that President Trump acted decisively, but I was disappointed in Mattis, Kelly, et al, for hanging back to “study it further–six more months.”
