Secretary of State John Kerry said in Vienna on Friday that air conditioners and refrigerators are as big of a threat to life as the threat of terrorism posed by groups like the Islamic State.
The Washington Examiner reported that Kerry was in Vienna to amend the 1987 Montreal Protocol that would phase out hydrofluorocarbons, or HFCs, from basic household and commercial appliances like air conditioners, refrigerators, and inhalers.
“As we were working together on the challenge of [ISIS] and terrorism,” Kerry said. “It’s hard for some people to grasp it, but what we–you–are doing here right now is of equal importance because it has the ability to literally save life on the planet itself.” Meanwhile back in reality, ISIS rapes, cuts off heads, overthrows governments , cities, towns, and takes over the HFC free world , right? Lunatics. What is the first responsibility of our government? To save the planet? I don’t think so.
Kerry said that most of the substances banned in the Montreal Protocol have increased the use of HFCs and claimed that the coolant was thousands of times more potent than CO2. He added that the increase of HFCs has led to the trend of global climate change.
“The use of hydrofluorocarbons is unfortunately growing,” Kerry said. “Already, the HFCs use in refrigerators, air conditioners, and other items are emitting an entire gigaton of carbon dioxide-equivalent pollution into the atmosphere annually. Now, if that sounds like a lot, my friends, it’s because it is. It’s the equivalent to emissions from nearly 300 coal-fired power plants every single year.” I, personally, am not a believer that coal is such a bad thing with advent of scrubbers , etc.
Members of the Montreal Protocol have met their obligations and have aided in the shrinking of the hole in the ozone, as well as created jobs and improved the quality of life, Kerry said.
Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Gina McCarthy was also present at the negotiations and is serving as the lead negotiator for the United States. McCarthy has said that her goal is to enact the HFC agreement by the end of the year. This will undoubtedly increase the price of the items mentioned by two-fold, but hey, we would be saving the planet right? That’s debatable! Trump will probably dissolve the agreement the first of the next year; along with many other “deals” this administrative brokered.
New EPA rules along with the global deal would band HFCs in the United States and push for alternative chemicals for use in appliances. These are exactly the kind of “deals” Trump spoke of in his acceptance speech. The negotiations are part of President Obama’s climate agenda to combat global climate change. Hey POTUS, do you understand the definition of “combat,” or have you simply lost your mind. I suspect the latter. How about combating your Muslim Brotherhood?

JIm, I had an A/C problem last week and learned that my outfit doesn’t use freon any longer. Maybe what they use now is already “safer” than freon ecology wise. Maybe one of your followers knows more about this.
More importantly though, I did figure out a way that air conditioners can be more dangerous than ISIS/ISIL. If every wiindow air conditioner fell out of its window worldwide, especially in Tokyo and NYC, more folks might be killed by blunt force trauma than in a week or two of ISIS/ISIL rampages.
I feel much better knowing about this potential risk and will adjust my travel and walking plans accordingly!! And we have that butt end of a jackass Kerry to thank for the “heads up” to be on the lookout for falling air conditioners.

Perhaps one will land on that treasonous bastard and put him where he belongs — on the brown side of the grass! BTW, is it true he keeps his yacht in a slip in another state to avoid paying taxes on it? I have reason to believe it is a true. What a staunch, patriotic example to set for his fellow Americans!
