VFW Windbag

I apologize for my absence, been too darn busy, but don’t ask doing what; I haven’t the slightest. I have no idea where my daytime hours go but they certainly speed by. One thing that has garnered my attention is trying to sell this damn RV. Can you imagine a guy with two motorhomes? Well, that be me. Should not have bought the second until I sold the first, but it’s not the first time I have done something stupid like that. Bought houses without selling the one we just moved from several times. DUMB!, and for someone with a degree in  Economics you’d think he’d know better. Still trying to sell the Navion 24D, what an absolute steal for some young couple with children.

Anyway, I digress.I am a life member of the VFW thanks to my parents who moved to PA when Dad retired and to a dry county. Mom asked if I was a member and wasn’t so she asked if I’d join so they could go as associate members . This was immediate post RVN war when we were not welcome in those places. So, I joined and finally did the life membership things vice renewing every year. Great story in the “The Book” about my first visit to their VFW in 1974.

Anyway I get their trashy magazine that’s filled with nothing but advertises which I never read. And I even sometimes get emails from them when the higher ups think they have something important to say which is always a joke. Anyway, I got one today that really pissed me off so I am posting here.  Please read what the Commander of the entire VFW worldwide has to say. And even look at the date he chose to write this POS.

VFW National Commander Reacts to Resolution on Military Promotions

‘Let’s remember, veterans vote’

WASHINGTON — “The VFW is relieved the nearly year-long obstruction of hundreds of general and flag officer promotions has ended thanks in large part to Senators and fellow VFW members Dan Sullivan and Joni Ernst. The hold on military promotions was endangering our national security and that of our allies, further jeopardizing the sustainability of our all-volunteer force, and negatively impacting the lives of countless service members and families. Going forward, we urge Congress to work together to resolve political disputes within the halls of Congress and permanently abandon the dangerous practice of casting partisan politics on to those wearing the cloth of our nation. Let’s remember, veterans vote.”  — VFW National Commander Duane Sarmiento

Yes sir Mr Heavy, let us please remember Veterans Vote! I certainly hope like hell they vote! This fellow hasn’t a clue. I can’t believe that even the VFW has gone woke.  Congressman Tuberville’s “hold on the the flag promotions is jeopardizing the sustainability of our all-volunteer force.” WHAT? And “negatively impacting the lives of countless service members and families.” Give me break. He hasn’t a clue what the hold on the promotions was all about, but then maybe some of you are in agreement with this windbag. I shall not embarrass my readers by outlining why the astute congressman did what he did and continues with the four stars. Do you know how much a three star makes? A 3-star over 24 (that’s his max) makes $212,101.20 a year, and that’s only his base pay. So this poor fellow won’t get his 4th star until the congressman says so. And guys, he is punishing the right people, although I wish he would not have eased off lower Gen/Adm promotions. They are the problem! They are carrying out the orders of that idiot in the WH instead of standing up for what’s right.

Did you know that an officers oath of office is not the same as the oath of enlistment? The officer’s oath does require him to follow the orders of the president of the US and those officers appointed over me. The officer’s oath acts as a safeguard against power corruption by not swearing obedience to the president or other officials, but rather to the Constitution.  Many people do know there is a difference. If you want to read more about why there is a difference copy and paste the link below for a very good explanation from the Marine Corps. You just may learn something. So, these generals and admirals should be sounding an alarm vice rubber stamping everything DOD says.

I simply find it so sad that this VFW fellow is one of “them” The libitards have invaded the VFW.

2017 – The Year of Racism

Happy New Year Folks, thank goodness 2017 is gone for it was  the year of racism. Chad gives us a great review of 2017. Of course, there is not guarantee 2018 will be any better unless the snowflakes, liberals, and progressive globalists make it so. Of course, it could be better if the silent majority would stop being so silent and become the vocal majority. But then, that likely will not happen since they prefer to take silent actions, which I sure hope they do so during the mid-term election.

Here’s Chad’s take on the year. Enjoy.

Church, State, and Hatred

What’s always good for the goose is not always good for the gander. What a shame. I feel for this man. He goes to hear the word of God every Sunday and instead hear’s his preacher spew hated for our country and President.  Generation after generation; it will never end, at least not in mine, my children’s, or grandchildren’s lifetime.

Jerry said his pastor gave him the same blank stare he always receives from fellow blacks when he states commonsense views that are contrary to Democrat lies believed by that most blacks. Condescendingly, Jerry’s pastor said he understood his concerns. Meanwhile, his attacks on Trump from the pulpit continue. Jerry said every guest speaker at his church includes trashing Trump in their sermon.

Jerry’s church realizes there is a war on Christianity. Jerry said it is mind-boggling that his church has hired attorneys to defend itself from relentless infringements on its religious liberty. And yet, his entire church is loyal Democrat voters, the party leading the charge against Christianity. Jerry said it is as insane as giving your enemy a hammer to hit you in the head and then buying a helmet for protection.

Jerry challenged his fellow black church members to tell him what Trump has done to prove he is a racist. Remarkably, they believe Trump saying he wants to make America great again is proof of his racism. It is truly unfortunate that Leftists/fake news media have deceived many blacks into believing that a desire to make our homeland great again is code for white supremacy.

Jerry’s church members also thought it was racist for Trump to say he wanted to address the high murder rate in black neighborhoods. They argued that whites murder whites, Mexicans murder Mexicans and so on. Jerry and I discussed how blacks are undeniably murdering each other in record numbers in cities controlled by Democrats. Jerry thought blacks should be excited about Trump wanting to stop the violence, starting in black neighborhoods. Jerry said, “I tell you, Peanut (my childhood nickname), sometimes I feel like I am living in the Twilight Zone.”

Jerry ran into a black guy from the black community we grew up in. The guy went on and on praising our dad, Dr. Rev. Lloyd E. Marcus for being a powerful influence in his life. When their conversation went to politics, the pleasant mood dramatically changed. The guy stared Jerry in the eyes, “I bet you are a Republican and voted for Trump. My blood is boiling just looking at you!” Jerry said the guy was so enraged, he braced himself preparing for the guy to try to hit him.

Jerry said he feels all alone in his Baltimore urban environment. He called me in West Virginia for encouragement to stand strong in his political beliefs. I praised my younger brother for his courage. Jerry has always been an independent person and thinker. When we were in our twenties, I remember Jerry saying, “The only thing I want from the government is for it to get out of my way.”

Our black family is a tale of two mindsets. One side of our family is ripe with Christian preachers, doctors, lawyers and teachers. The other side of our family consisted of generational welfare recipients; out-of-wedlock births, drug and alcohol abuse. One cousin spawned 23 kids and grandkids all repeating their cycle of generational government dependency. Sadly, the majority of my relatives who spent their lives on welfare are dead. Ponder that, folks. Both sides of my family grew up in the same America. Their lives followed their mindsets.

My brother said his pastor relentlessly attacking Trump and church member’s irrational brain-dead loyalty to the Democrat party is becoming intolerable. Jerry laughed quoting Popeye, “That’s all I can stands and I can’t stands no more.” Still, he does not feel led to end his long-time membership at his church. I told Jerry God will tell him when it is time to leave.

St. Augustine said a minority of truth will prevail as long as it is heard. In other words, God only requires Jerry and me to continue faithfully spreading the truth. While most of our seeds of truth falls on stony hearts and minds, some will land on fertile soil in the minds of a remnant of black youths; take root, grow, and bear good fruit.

Treason?

Having spent half of an Okinawan 13-month tour at Camp Courtney as the S-3/S/4 of HQ Bn, 3rd MARDIV, so I know the view Greg talks about very well, and yes the legend is true. Not just soldiers, but many civilians as well took advantage of the view to die for.

But then I digress and must at agree wholeheartedly with Greg about the POS of whom he writes. He was one of Trump’s mistakes during his first tour. He should have listened to Mattis and Dunford, but now he can make amends. Charge the POS for treason!

A General’s Consensus                                                    By: Greg Maresca

Legend said the cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean at Okinawa, Japan’s Camp Courtney, the headquarters of the commanding general of the Third Marine Division, was where Japanese soldiers committed harakiri rather than be taken prisoner during World War II.

You could say the view was to die for.

It was also my introduction to the palatial digs of MajGen. Steven Olmstead, as the food delivery detail I was assigned to made it obvious this wasn’t your typical stopover on mess duty.

Fast-forward to December 2018 when President Donald Trump nominated Gen. Mark Milley for chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCOS), against the wishes of Secretary of Defense and former Marine Gen. James Mattis and then-JCOS chairman Marine Gen. Joseph Dunford. Milley would serve as chairman from 2019 to 2023 under Presidents Trump and Biden.

Mattis and Dunford were vindicated when in Bob Woodward and Robert Costa’s book, “Peril,” revealed how Milley called Chinese Gen. Li Zuocheng on Oct. 30, 2020, four days before the presidential election and again on Jan. 8, 2021, two days after Trump supporters marched on the U.S. Capitol.

Milley stated, “General Li, I want to assure you that the American government is stable, and everything is going to be OK. We are not going to attack or conduct any kinetic operations against you. General Li, you and I have known each other for five years. If we’re going to attack, I’m going to call you ahead of time. It’s not going to be a surprise.”

This is not treason?

Sen. Marco Rubio responded in a letter to President Biden that was obviously ignored.

“I do not need to tell of you the dangers posed by senior military officers leaking classified information on U.S. military operations, but I will underscore that such subversion undermines the President’s ability to negotiate and leverage one of this nation’s instruments of national power in his interactions with foreign nations.”

In Woodward’s book: “War,” Milley declared Trump was the “most dangerous person ever” and a “fascist to the core.” Such statements violate Article 88 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice by slandering the commander-in-chief.

When questioned about Woodward’s books, Milley claimed he hadn’t read any of them.

Who believes that?

Such candor defies credulity.

Perjury anyone?

Moreover, Milley made himself a part of the chain of command for January 6th and issued an order to the commander of the D.C. National Guard that he was in charge. Milley also assessed the Afghan army believing it capable to stand on their own and that Ukraine would fall in 72 hours. Milley was not shy in defending the teaching at West Point of Marxist-based Critical Race Theory, saying, “I want to understand white rage and I’m white,” at a House Armed Services Committee hearing.

Milley’s treason, disloyalty and incompetence were inexcusable.

During the last four years, accountability in the Defense Department has been MIA.

Before leaving office, President Joe Biden pardoned Milley.

Since then, Hegseth ordered the Pentagon’s inspector general to investigate Milley to determine if he “undermined the chain of command during President Trump’s first term.”

Many generals are chairborne desk jockeys concerned more with politics than with military preparedness. Milley is another in a long line of flag officers who carried water for the Military Industrial Complex that President Dwight Eisenhower warned us about.

Like presidents, generals are not all created equal, where only a few leave a historical footprint, while most just fade away – Douglas MacArthur notwithstanding.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has revoked Milley’s security detail and suspended his security clearance while exiling his two portraits from the Pentagon.

If justice is to be served, Milley should be court martialed for treason having betrayed allegiance to the United States by giving aid and comfort to a foreign power in a state in open hostility with us.

A compromised general was pardoned by an equally compromised president.

Treason is the one exception to a presidential pardon. The act of pardoning someone who committed treason is also treason.

Milley most likely never took in the view at the general’s mess at Camp Courtney but being a DEI warrior, I am sure he is familiar with how any Asian culture would handle his situation having only himself to blame.

Sgt Penny, USMC

Another great contribution from Greg

Saving Sgt. Penny                                                                By: Greg Maresca

Daniel Penny joined dignitaries at the Army-Navy football game last Saturday as an invited guest of Vice President-elect J.D. Vance. In contrast to our times, if it was up to the denizens of the left, Penny would be in a jail cell for the rest of his life.

It was in May 2023 that a 30-year-old homeless schizophrenic named Jordan Neely, high on synthetic marijuana, threatened subway riders in the bowels of Manhattan. Neely’s criminal credentials included 42 arrests from theft to assault. Neely’s repertoire during this subterranean ride included throwing garbage and issuing death threats.

Amid Neely’s increasing volume and threats was 24-year-old Marine Corps Sgt. Daniel Penny who did what so many simply won’t – he selflessly acted to protect those around him. From the Halls of Montezuma to the subways of New York. Penny’s courage prevailed over woke cowardice underscoring the refrain on how a Marine can be your best friend or your worst enemy.

There is nothing like the subway during those notorious “off hours” while riding the “local” because the entertainment is always free, but it can go dark very quickly as this incident proved.

Penny subdued Neely by placing him in a chokehold.

Neely later died while in medical custody.

That fateful subway car was filled with passengers, many of whom were black and Hispanic, who didn’t miss a beat in expressing their gratitude for Penny’s decisive action. Their gratitude was ignored by the New York media. For Penny’s efforts, he was arrested and charged with negligent homicide by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

Another story ignored by the mainstream media and reported by black conservative writer Larry Elder noted that on the same day Penny pleaded not guilty, “Jordan Williams and his girlfriend, who are both black, were on a Brooklyn subway train when Williams, 20 years old, was approached by an aggressive 36-year-old ex-con homeless black man, Devictor Ouedraogo. In a confrontation captured on video, Ouedraogo punched Williams’ girlfriend in the face, and Williams then pulled a knife and fatality stabbed Ouedraogo. Unlike in the case of Penny, no activists publicly accused Williams of engaging in “racially motivated vigilantism.”

All charges were dropped against Williams, while Penny’s lengthy trial was just getting underway.

Leftists understand Neely not as a menacing threat to society, but as an unfortunate victim since he was black. Provided Neely was white, and Penny was black, this would be a nonissue. Moreover, if both were black, or if both were white – no charges – just another carefree day riding the BMT.

Neely posed a threat to passengers on the subway, many, if not most, of whom were black. The D.A. who charged Penny is black. The mayor of New York, who praised Penny’s heroism, is black and a retired NYPD captain. The jury that found Penny not guilty included four “people of color.”

Yet, Penny’s acquittal, according to the head of the New York Chapter of Black Lives Matter, means “white supremacy got another victory?!”

It was a case that should never have made it to court. Penny was rightfully acquitted, and leftists and racists everywhere went bonkers. Where was their outrage for all the people who felt terrorized by Neely?

Many remain anchored on the sideline refusing to intervene for fear of being charged and enduring our dysfunctional legal system.

Rather, they break out their phones and record it.

Penny should be celebrated for his character and courage. A free and prosperous society applauds those who act on behalf of others. It doesn’t ridicule, criminalize and sue them.

Naturally, Al Sharpton delivered a eulogy blaming racism for Neely’s death. A Neely family member responded, “Today, white supremacy got another victory. Today, the KKK, the Klansmen, the evil in America got another victory. Those among you who say that Daniel Penny is innocent have racism and bias in your heart.”

Enter Neely’s father who personifies the term “deadbeat dad” seeking a substantial payday on the grave of his son he abandoned decades ago recently filed a civil suit against Penny.

Most see through the hypocrisy, begging the question has the pendulum swung far enough for society to finally start admitting the truth about these incidents that are the real “threat to democracy.”

If this civil suit is not thrown out, racist lawfare only continues to spiral out of control to the detriment of all.

And BTW, to all my faithful followers, please have a very merry Christmas and an absolutely Happy Year. For me, January 20th cannot come soon enough. I have decided that starting on that day, I will start anew watching TV news, but I will be watching CNN and MSNBC as I can’t wait to see their spin on everything Trump does. It should be fun.
