President Trump and the Media

Copied from Trump Train News (TTN) to which I subscribe. Don’t always agree with some of the wild things they post, and some of their writers need to go back to school and take a grammar course. But sometimes they post something I fully agrees with and consider sharing, such as the one I posted below. I know not the author, but it’s well written. Enjoy.

Donald Trump has a spectacular opportunity right now to put his opponents in the Fake News Media right where he wants them – but he’ll want to strike while the iron is hot.

My son is 3 years old, and he loves dinosaurs – he’s absolutely obsessed with them. Dinosaur books, dinosaur toys, and every dinosaur documentary Disney+ and Amazon Prime have to offer. Inevitably, we end up watching a lot of shows that weren’t really made for kids – full of all the cheap poetic metaphors you expect from the made-for-TV documentary film writers who couldn’t get a writing gig for the next Summer blockbuster. My favorite is at the end of the BBC Walking with Dinosaurs series, where Kenneth Branaugh reminds the viewer that as death rained from the heavens, the dinosaurs could not look to the sky and contemplate their demise.

Extinction-level events are hard for the creatures living through them to process. We’re in the middle of an extinction-level event right now. No, not COVID-19. What we’re seeing is the death of the major media cartels – especially on the information side. News media has, since Donald Trump’s historic 2016 run, been contracting quickly and thousands of would-be Walter Cronkites are being turned out to prepare iced vanilla lattes for decidedly less interesting people than they think they are. The best they can do is thrash about while it happens, oblivious to why it is happening; frankly, they seem almost dedicated to hastening their own end.

Take the pandemic coverage: COVID-19 has been treated like a godsend for these people – with major sports leagues shutdown and businesses closing, they’re quickly becoming the only entertainment game in town. It also gives them a convenient bludgeon to use against their bogeyman-of-choice, President Trump. They accuse him of being malicious, incompetent, both, neither… whatever allows them to continue justifying their hatred of him. COVID-19 has led to a lot of them piling blame on him for problems that truly stem from problems in healthcare, labor laws, and immigration control – problems that he has as President worked tirelessly to address only to be blocked at every turn.

People aren’t blind to this, though, and eventually, the fallout from the Wuhan Comet is going to settle. The novel coronavirus is a bad disease, but it’s not Smallpox or the Bubonic Plague. Media hysterics have put millions of people on the ropes – and criticism of Trump trying to help the folks on Main Street only hastens the extinction of the dinosaurs here. When the American citizens who have been made to suffer by this panic realize just how exaggerated the threat of COVID-19 is, President Trump is going to have a fantastic opportunity to reach anyone who still thinks CNN or MSNBC is on their side. They tried to get him with lies about Russia, then lies about Ukraine, and now all of their crying wolf has almost tanked the economy.

Ever since the Kennedy-Nixon Debate, every Conservative candidate has had to run against two opponents: the Democrat and the Media Cartels. Trump is the first in a long while to defeat both in his campaigns, and COVID-19 has given him another opportunity to keep the Media Cartels on their back foot. Even if the leading Democrat candidate was someone who could string together a coherent sentence, the Media hysteria has given Trump such an upper hand that he’ll win handily. By running around screaming that the sky is falling, they’re bringing the roof down on their own heads.

I often enjoy the comments as much as the article itself. I especially enjoyed this one:

I am embarrassed to admit it, but when I registered to vote I register as a Democrat. You must remember that in the fifties and the sixties this Party was the Party of Labor. The agenda of both major Parties was clear then. Democrats fought for Labor Rights and the Republican fought for business rights. YES, even then, each Party had their faults;but this was the accepted norm then. What has changed? The Parties started talking about social justice. Social justice that defines the rights listed in our US Constitution. Politicians took these accepted rights and made them political. By doing so this the Republic moved away from our US Constitution , thus giving the nation Political Correctness. This Political Correctness has replaced Rule of Law, putting the nation on a path to it’s own internal demise with Socialism. Those who drafted our US Constitution knew the importance of Rule of Law. They even required a Oath of Office to remind those we elect to follow Rule of Law as our Constitution demands of all US Citizens. Political Correctness severed this link between our Constitution and it’s Rule of Law. We now hear politicians claiming no one needs a “Assault weapon” or a thirty round clip. People tend to forget that to be called a “Assault weapon” it has to be used to assault another human being. We could call a rake or shovel a “Assault weapon” if it is used to assault another human being. We are also hearing that people must respect and accept other faiths, yet this is not what our US Constitution states. People are free to accept who or what religion they choose. Citizens are even allowed to hate another minority as long as they do not infringed on the rights of this minority. In the United States people are given the right to speak their mind and assemble as they choose as long as they do not become a threat to others. Politicians have taken rights that are quite clearly stated in the US Constitution and twisted them so badly that their true meaning is distorted for political gain.

There is only one thing that will save the US from it’s demise. Return to Rule of Law and stop this Political Correct BS. Respect our US Constitution and do not use this constitution for political gain.

My one deep concern with what was said is I hope and pray DJT does not step on his shoe strings and say or do something stupid between now and November 3rd! We all know he his personality and there have been times where he has not served himself well. I’m hoping!

Something is Fishy

I received this from a fellow Marine. A great friend with whom I had the pleasure of serving over the years. We spent some rough months together with a dozen other Marines developing the Corps’ Riverine Ops and testing some boats back in the late 80’s. Thus the nicknames, which were our call signs.

Popeye, this is an interesting read!  Can you imagine if it’s true? I bet our Intel guys know just what has happened!

Lambo

Received from a friend.  Interesting AND concerning.  Share if you choose

When Tom Cotton, early on, through up a red flag, anyone with any wherewithal should have taken note. I’m not saying this because he is my state Senator, but because he has for a long time had China, Russia, and Iran in his sites. Being the chairman of the Senate Intel Committee, he probably gets info early and more routinely and is pragmatic in applying the implication.  It was noted early on that the two Chi com bio-chem labs are located in Wuhan. Lest we forget that China is not a signatory to the UN (treaty?) that outlaws development of Bio-chem weapons, and it should be noted that these weapons are not delivered in the classic sense.

*SOMETHING IS FISHY!!*

Wuhan to Shanghai = 839 km

Wuhan to Beijing = 1,152 km

Wuhan to Milan = 8,684 km

Wuhan to NY = 12,033 km

The Coronavirus started in Wuhan yet there is no effect of Coronavirus in nearby Beijing or Shanghai but many deaths in Italy, Iran, European countries and USA.  All business areas of China are now safe.

*Something is fishy.*

America is not just blaming China without a reason. Even today, India is locked down but all the cities of China are open. China has also announced the opening of Wuhan from April 08. Not a single leader in China has tested positive for the deadly Coronavirus.

*Something is fishy.*

The virus has ruined many economies around the world. Many have had to close their borders in an attempt to contain and control the spread of the Coronavirus. Thousands have lost their lives, millions have now got this disease, countless people have been locked in their homes and many countries have placed their citizens on lock down.

*Something is fishy.*

The Coronavirus originated from the city of Wuhan in China and has now reached every corner of the world, but the virus did not reach China’s capital Beijing and China’s Economic Capital Shanghai, located in close proximity to Wuhan itself.

*Something is fishy*

Today Paris is closed, New York is closed, Berlin is closed, Delhi is closed, Mumbai is closed, Tokyo is closed, the world’s major economic and political centers are closed, but Beijing and Shanghai are open. No Coronavirus effect is seen in either cities. There were only a few cases but the virus had no real effect on Beijing and Shanghai.

*Something is fishy.*

Beijing is the city where all the leaders of China live, including their military leaders. There is no lock down in Beijing.

*Something is fishy*

Shanghai is the city that runs China’s economy. It is the economic capital of China, where all the rich people of China live and run major industries. There is no lock down here, there is no effect of the Coronavirus there.

*Something is fishy*

Beijing and Shanghai are the areas adjoining Wuhan. The virus from Wuhan reached every corner of the world, but the virus did not affect Beijing and Shanghai.

*Something is fishy*

Another big thing is, that the worldwide share market has fallen by almost half. In India also the Nifty has gone from 12 thousand to 7 thousand, but the share market of China was at 3000 and just merely dropped to 2700.

*Something is fishy*

This leaves one to speculate that the Coronavirus is a bio-chemical weapon of China, which China used to carry out destruction in the world in order to gain economic supremacy.

China has now put this virus under control, maybe they also have the antidote/ vaccine that they are not sharing with the world ever or will do when it is in their best interest to do so.

*Something is fishy*

Hollywood stars, Australia’s Home Minister, Britain’s Prime Minister and Health Minister, Spain’s Prime Minister’s wife, Canada’s Prime Minister’s wife, and Britain’s Prince Charles, among others, have contracted the Coronavirus, but NOT A SINGLE POLITICAL LEADER IN CHINA, NOT A SINGLE MILITARY COMMANDER in China have tested positive for Coronavirus.

*SOMETHING IS FISHY!!!!

I don’t want to sound like a nut job conspiracy theorist, but these are some interesting thoughts to consider. I only post for your perusal and for you decide. I do believe our president has no love for China and doesn’t trust them at all. During his nightly briefings he sometimes finds it difficult to speak about China in a calm tone – that’s obvious to me. There probably is some shades of truth here, but will we ever know? I doubt it, but I suspect some of our folks know the truth.

Maxine Waters

Hey Gang, I don’t know how or even if you donate to the political arena? I stopped donating to the Republican National Committee (RNC) during the McCain era because I did not want any of my hard earned money going to that scumbag and the rest of his RINO cronies. Since then I have only donated to individuals, and I don’t even care whether or not they are in my home state. Such is the case here. I researched this fellow; he’s legit, he’s dynamic, he’s intelligent, he’s charismatic, he’s a US Navy Vet, and he is trying to unseat that horrible, dumb, arrogant, far left liberal scumbag  of a human organism from Los Angeles, CA. None other than Maxine Waters, who has become a millionaire as a politician, and so have her offspring, and they are all as stupid as she is.

So, this fellow needs some help; He was only asking for $5, but I just donated $50 to his campaign. I’d like to see nothing more than her to lose her seat and it be filled by this great GOP candidate!!! Think about it. Every penny will help him! Thank you for taking the time to read this missive

6 March, A Day to Remember

It’s Saturday so I shall take a time out from the looney tunes and Village People today for something personal. For those who have not yet read my book—shame on you—please allow me to elaborate. Sixty-two years ago, on 6 March 1958, my HS friend, Teddy Wood, and I having just quit school a few days earlier, boarded a train at the Baltimore train station bound for a place that will live in infamy with me—Parris Island, South Carolina. When we disembarked the train around midnight at a place called Yamasee, South Carolina, my life immediately changed forever!

Recruit (Turd) Sheldon J Bathurst March -June 1958 Parris Island, SC

Teddy did his four years and left the Corps and has since transferred upstairs to guard the streets. While I, on the hand, became consumed by it all and by the end of my four years I had developed into what we young upstart enlisted Marines referred to as a “lifer.”

The rest is history and well documented in the book: We’ll All Die as Marines – One Marine’s Journey from Private to Colonel. It’s not actually an autobiography, but more of a chronological series of stories about life’s ever challenging experiences inside the Marine Corps, and of the amazing life-long brothers and sisters with whom I had the pleasure of serving, as well as the host of professional mentors I was lucky enough to have had throughout my nearly thirty-six years.

A pictorial trip through a blessed career.

LtCol Jim Bathurst, CO BLT 2/6 22nd MEU 1987. Hump back to the beach Pein de Spile, Spain

It amazes me how many of those brothers and sisters I am still in contact with today—in fact, many are followers of this blog. Several of you on here were my “turds” (LOL) long ago in the early 1960’s. How neat is that. For those of you reading this who did not have the opportunity to have served in the Corps, this all may seem strange to you. You see, we are a “family!” We served together through good times and bad, war and peace, we laughed and cried together, we got knee walking, commode hugging, snot slinging drunk together in foreign ports of call and helped each other back to the ship or base. We never ever left anyone behind. To all my eternal brothers and sisters who were always ready to lay down our lives for one another—God bless and Semper Fi; Jim aka “Sgt B.”

PS. If you looked at the photo captions closely you should have noticed a name change. Why? Sorry, you’ll have to read the book. LOL

Coronavirus III

I don’t want to be a pest and appear as though I am an alarmist concerning this issue, but I keep getting emails with info concerning the virus. I just got one from a HS buddy with whom I have remained in contact over the years, and is a member of this blog, The email contains some things to be careful of that I had not considered, so I would like to share them with you. If you don’t desire to read anything more about this issue, just ignore it. I’m thin-skinned. LOL

He received it from a friend who received it from a friend, so it’s coming to you by way of several folks. However, that’s immaterial as it mentions some precautions you may not have considered. You decide for yourself. Personally, I learned much. In fact, I have indicated in RED somethings I had not consider.ed

Here’s the email:

Subject: What I am doing for the upcoming COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic

Dear Colleagues, as some of you may recall, when I was a professor of pathology at the University of California San Diego, I was one of the first molecular virologists in the world to work on coronaviruses (the 1970s). I was the first to demonstrate the number of genes the virus contained. Since then, I have kept up with the coronavirus field and its multiple clinical transfers into the human population (e.g., SARS, MERS), from different animal sources.

The current projections for its expansion in the US are only probable, due to continued insufficient worldwide data, but it is most likely to be widespread in the US by mid to late March and April.

Here is what I have done and the precautions that I take and will take. These are the same precautions I currently use during our influenza seasons, except for the mask and gloves.:

1) NO HANDSHAKING! Use a fist bump, slight bow, elbow bump, etc.

2) Use ONLY your knuckle to touch light switches. elevator buttons, etc.. Lift the gasoline dispenser with a paper towel or use a disposable glove.

3) Open doors with your closed fist or hip – do not grasp the handle with your hand, unless there is no other way to open the door. Especially important on bathroom and post office/commercial doors.

4) Use disinfectant wipes at the stores when they are available, including wiping the handle and child seat in grocery carts.

5) Wash your hands with soap for 10-20 seconds and/or use a greater than 60% alcohol-based hand sanitizer whenever you return home from ANY activity that involves locations where other people have been.

6) Keep a bottle of sanitizer available at each of your home’s entrances. AND in your car for use after getting gas or touching other contaminated objects when you can’t immediately wash your hands.

7) If possible, cough or sneeze into a disposable tissue and discard. Use your elbow only if you have to. The clothing on your elbow will contain infectious virus that can be passed on for up to a week or more!

What I have stocked in preparation for the pandemic spread to the US:

1) Latex or nitrile latex disposable gloves for use when going shopping, using the gasoline pump, and all other outside activity when you come in contact with contaminated areas.

Note: This virus is spread in large droplets by coughing and sneezing. This means that the air will not infect you! BUT all the surfaces where these droplets land are infectious for about a week on average – everything that is associated with infected people will be contaminated and potentially infectious. The virus is on surfaces and you will not be infected unless your unprotected face is directly coughed or sneezed upon. This virus only has cell receptors for lung cells (it only infects your lungs) The only way for the virus to infect you is through your nose or mouth via your hands or an infected cough or sneeze onto or into your nose or mouth.

2) Stock up now with disposable surgical masks and use them to prevent you from touching your nose and/or mouth (We touch our nose/mouth 90X/day without knowing it!). This is the only way this virus can infect you – it is lung-specific. The mask will not prevent the virus in a direct sneeze from getting into your nose or mouth – it is only to keep you from touching your nose or mouth.

3) Stock up now with hand sanitizers and latex/nitrile gloves (get the appropriate sizes for your family). The hand sanitizers must be alcohol-based and greater than 60% alcohol to be effective.

4) Stock up now with zinc lozenges. These lozenges have been proven to be effective in blocking coronavirus (and most other viruses) from multiplying in your throat and nasopharynx. Use as directed several times each day when you begin to feel ANY “cold-like” symptoms beginning. It is best to lie down and let the lozenge dissolve in the back of your throat and nasopharynx. Cold-Eeze lozenges is one brand available, but there are other brands available.

I, as many others do, hope that this pandemic will be reasonably contained, BUT I personally do not think it will be. Humans have never seen this snake-associated virus before and have no internal defense against it. Tremendous worldwide efforts are being made to understand the molecular and clinical virology of this virus. Unbelievable molecular knowledge about the genomics, structure, and virulence of this virus has already been achieved. BUT, there will be NO drugs or vaccines available this year to protect us or limit the infection within us. Only symptomatic support is available.

I hope these personal thoughts will be helpful during this potentially catastrophic pandemic. You are welcome to share this email. Good luck to all of us!
