I delayed posting on this subject until the storm and rage from my Marine and Navy friends on the internet and in phone calls died down. Actually, they haven’t stopped, but at least it’s only a dribble now. I’ll not belabor the point because my stand on the subject closely resembles what my friends are saying, and perhaps you will agree as well. So, I’ll be brief and wait to see your thoughts.
This was number 60, and I remember number one and every one after that, especially when my favorite team of the time, the Baltimore Colts, played in numbers 3 and 5. This game is highlighted as the greatest sporting event of the year in America. And for that POS Goodell to have booked a halftime show featuring some singer I don’t know who sang in a foreign language is the most egregious thing I have ever experienced in my lifetime.
I spent nearly 36 years of my adult life serving this once-wonderful country, giving much of my blood, sweat, and tears, and to see such a slap in the face of true Americans was totally unacceptable to me. I did watch a minute or two to see what all the huppla was about. Once I saw it, I changed to the alternate half-time show with Kid Rock, as did millions of Americans.
So, here is my stand. My TVs will never be tuned to any NFL game until the team owners speak out as true Americans and shit can that POS Goodell. I’ll watch NCAA football. In fact, I’ll watch girls’ flag football before I allow that SOB Goodell to embarrass my country again.

I was the same, I didn’t watch any of halftime show. No interest at all in that line up and it seems each year the NFL is flushing $$ down the drain. I felt sorry for this in attendance because they had no choice. I did watch pieces of the TPUSA and thought it was worthwhile.
Jim, I couldn’t agree more. Goodell, like the legion of card-carrying Communist, Islamist, and Social Democrat Party/Active Cadres and ideological or cultural sympathizers, fellow travelers, and useful idiots, have soiled and ripped the fabric of our constitutional republic with their rhetoric and actions. Today’s Red/Green alliance resembles the Confederacy of the 1860s while the GOP looks and acts more like the Democrat Party of Kennedy and Clinton.
In 2015, I was a centrist Libertarian. By 2016, the media described me as a radical right-wing white Christian nationalist. I didn’t change but the political landscape did as the Democrat Party, thanks to Bernie Sanders, dropped its “democratic” facade and openly embraced its socialist soul.
I haven’t watched a National Felons League game since Colin Kaepernick. Bad Bunny is just a follow-on pawn in Goodell’s game. I also remember the unity of the early Superbowls and miss the America they celebrated.
I’m not even a football fan but I was disgusted by that half time insult. That scum that sang in a foreign language is known for wearing woman’s clothes to the music awards and he supposedly sang or danced in a filthy way during the half time show. To bring the American sport down to such a level of insult is just plain disrespect for this nation.
I have never been a spectator, and don’t give two cents to watch somebody do something but I heard about this half time show of debauchery and glad I don’t watch this bullshit!

You were more curious than me. I fast forwarded through the entire halftime “show”……..managed to read several chapters of my book while on pause. Much better investment of my time. In the good old days at least we had a chance of catching Janet Jackson’s naked breast.
Interestingly, I know a Iraq era (Army) Vet who said it didn’t bother him…wasn’t going to get wound up over it.
