How much of this are we going to tolerate?

A U.S. Navy veteran was brutally beaten and killed outside his own home in McAllen, Texas—while being carjacked by an illegal immigrant.

Jose Luis Oviedo, 56, served in the U.S. Navy for 15 years: from 1981 to 1996.

Oviedo was apparently home alone when he heard a noise from outside—where he found Andres Roberto Ortiz, 32, attempting to steal his car. Ortiz turned on Oviedo, severely beating the Navy veteran unconscious.

Several hours later, local police found Oviedo’s SUV abandoned in a ditch. Upon visiting his home to report the vehicle, they found him unconscious in the backyard.
Oviedo was rushed to the hospital, but never regained consciousness. After spending a month in a coma, he died last Friday.

Ortiz was taken into a custody ten days after the attack. Ortiz is a Honduran who is in the United States illegally—and had been deported multiple times by the U.S. government. (my bold added)

Ortiz was initially charged with aggravated assault and robbery. After Oviedo’s death, the county district attorney is seeking to upgrade his charges to capital murder. Oviedo’s son, Victor, 29, spoke briefly to the media about how his outlook had changed, after his father’s death at the hands of an illegal immigrant:

“I had no real opinion as far as the immigration stance goes, but now I believe that something like this could have been prevented had the right steps been taken,” he said.

Col Andy on Last Night

While I was no at all surprised by the disgusting, child-like demeanor of the dems last night, it was sickening watching  grown men and women sit and act like petulant children in response to everything President Trump offered up. Did they not agree with fixing the infrastructure, did they not agree with talking care of veterans, did they not agree on anything? Is everything hunky dory in their minds? Then came the ultimate disgrace when they sat through the thunderclouds applause for the slain SEAL and his bride. They did themselves no favors last night. If they accomplished anything at all they showed their disdain for America, OK, so you don’t like him, I get that, I didn’t like the last one, but at least show some respect for the office. Last night showed who you really are. SCUM! And I want nothing to do with anyone that has the right to call themselves part of that group. You aren’t worth my friendship!

Once again, the Colonel of Truth nails it with his “Winners Country”

Starbucks Redux

I reckon we made somewhat of an impact on this cocky, snobbish, arrogant, politically correct CEO who believes he is so safe and good at his job as CEO that he can say anything he chooses to. Keep it up Schultz, you may go by the way of Woolworth’s. Let’s keep the pressure on them, we may just put them out of business. Oh, the power of money, and as Adam Smith called it, the “invisible hand.”

After President Donald Trump’s signed an executive order on immigration and refugees last month, Starbucks pledged they would hire 10,000 refugees over the next five years.

“We are living in an unprecedented time, one in which we are witness to the conscience of our country, and the promise of the American Dream, being called into question,” Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz said at the time.

But now, their decision has apparently backfired.

From Yahoo Finance:

Starbucks’ brand has taken a beating since the company announced plans to hire 10,000 refugees worldwide in the next five years in response to Donald Trump’s executive order intended to prevent refugees from entering the US.

The coffee giant’s consumer perception levels have fallen by two-thirds since late January, according to YouGov BrandIndex.

The perception tracker measures if respondents have “heard anything about the brand in the last two weeks, through advertising, news or word of mouth, was it positive or negative.” In Starbucks’ case, perception is still overall positive, but significantly lower than it was prior to CEO Howard Schultz published a public letter outlining the company’s plans to give refugees jobs.

This isn’t the first time Starbucks has found controversy after announcing a company-wide initiative. In 2015, Schultz announced the “Race Together” initiative where barista’s would push customers to engage in dialogue about race relations.

However, that initiative also quickly backfired and they ended it.

And here is an excellent comment that was made on the article. There are lots of folks out there in the business world who could learn something from this comment.

This is what happens when CEO’s feel the need to infuse political correctness into their business models. Much like talented Hollywood actors and actresses who isolate much of their fan base when they abandon a proven formula for success (acting) by pushing political agendas, businesses can find themselves in the same boat. What out of touch CEO’s like Schultz don’t understand is the vast majority of his employees across the country are there to make coffee and collect a paycheck, not push his utopian politically correct agenda. What’s next? Installing a Zampolit (political officer) in every Starbucks to ensure all the baristas are comporting with the Kommissar’s agenda?

Interestingly, right after Schultz’ announcement to hire 10,000 refugees, Black Rifle Coffee Company announced they would hire 10,000 veterans. Starbucks may not actually meet their stated goal of hiring 10,000 refugees and BRCC may not actually meet their stated goal of hiring 10,000 veterans. What is important is the difference in priorities between the two companies with the messages they are sending. BRCC gets it. We need to take care of Americans first.

Spend $0.34 PLEASE!

I received this email today from a fellow Marine, and I believe it is a great idea. If one were to watch any news program, or for that matter any of the late night comedy shows (wait, maybe they are the same, but I digress), or any of the shamelessly Hollywood elites show up half  dressed and shower themselves with accolades, one would surely believe our President, who was duly and legally elected was thrust on the country by some demon. Well, maybe he was for the loser certainly is a demon.

Was in the Dr’s waiting room this a.m. while my bride was having an eye appointment and the TV was on CNN. I finally had to move and sit under it so I would not have watch it (the sound was off). Anyway the shots I saw were all anti-Trump episodes, one after another. They showed a poll where 55% of Republicans give him good grades for the first 100 days, while the Dem’s were 12%. So from that poll somehow they  decided he is not popular. Duh?

Anyway, what can we do to let him know that we put him there, we like what he is doing and we support him? Here’s how:

“On March 16th, each of us should mail Donald Trump a postcard that publicly expresses our SUPPORT to him. And we, in vast numbers, from all corners of the world, will overwhelm the man with his popularity and hope for success.

We will show the media and the politicians what standing against him – and with us – means. And most importantly, we will bury the White House with our support as US citizens for the office of the Presidency.

Each of us – every American from every working class, each congress calling citizen, every boy-cotter, volunteer, donor, and petition signer – if each of us writes even a single postcard and we put them all in the mail on the same day, March 16th, well: you do the math. No media deception or disingenuous leftist politician will explain away our record-breaking, officially-verifiable, warehouse-filling flood of faith.

Hank Aaron currently holds the record for fan mail, having received 900,000 pieces in a year. We’re setting a new record: over 1.5 million pieces in a day, ringing with nice things to say. So sharpen your wit, unsheathe your writing implements, and see if your sincerest well-wishes can pierce the media’s famously thin skin.

Prepare for March 16th, 2017 , a day hereafter to be known as “Patriots Day” !! Then, on March 16th, mail your messages to:

President Donald J. Trump

The White House

1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW

Washington, DC 20500

It might just be enough to drown out the awful, despicable, display we see in these protests! The media just might take notice, but we’ll have to wait and see on that one!!!

Come on gang, the darn postcard only costs thirty-four cents ($0.34). And please pass this on, let’s make an impression, a lasting one! Remember, mail the postcard on Thursday, March 16th!

And just in case ,you are of the artistic bent, try making your own delightful postcard by going here:
