Okay, I gave it a day to think about the debate as I was not in any mood to write anything yesterday. Some of you may not agree with me and if so, please feel free to say so in your comment. I’ve read all the BS coming across the internet for two days, and feel I must say something now.
Winner? Well, if there was any one of the three debaters, I would say it was a draw. Yes, I said three. Wallace was the worse mediator I have witnessed since debating began years ago. Several times it appeared the debate was between the President and Wallace. And I have to say, I expected that when I discovered who would be the moderator. Like the saying about apples falling from the tree, he is his Dad’s son.
Our president showed off his bullying. He appeared pissed when he walked onto the stage, and it got worse as the debate went on. Why did he have to get personal about Biden’s son? Yes, I know he is a dirtbag, but Biden’s reply was surely accepted by the left.
There is much empathy out there for Biden and his mental problems among his side of the aisle, and all Trump did was increased it. Trump needed to shut up and let Biden talk. The more he talked the more his mental condition was coming out. I feared that Biden would be wearing something that would allow him to expose his mental issues. And I saw this on the internet this morning:
Some have said this is fake; I don’t think so. Numerous times when he was quiet it appeared he was listening to someone. And it was then that he looked into the camera instead at the moderator and gave his “Vote” speech. I’m suspect he was signaled to do that.
But is sum, I was mad at Trump and his bullying, and his constant interruptions. But I will say that questions were asked of Trump when it was his two-minute turn, Wallace would ask Trump more questions interrupting him talking time away from his two-minutes which used up his time. I believe that was Wallace’s plan. Also, I thought some of the questions were way off base and dealt primarily with the past. He’d set the stage for the question by bringing up things Trump (and Biden) had said, then ask a question. Of course, this caused Trump to attack the past issues he used to set the stage before he got to the question and that’s when Wallace would interrupt him.
Overall, the whole event sucked big time with no obvious winner! Our president needs to act presidential dammit! A woman said it best on a Facebook page. She said—paraphrased—I don’t like the way Trump acts and his constant bullying, but I do not elect a president based on his personality, I vote for a person because of his agenda and his plan for America; that’s why I will vote for Trump again.
And I too do not cast a vote for a personality; how stupid is that? However, many folks do just that. I may be pissed at Trump, but I will still vote for him!!!!!

Since he took office, I have consistently said that President Trump needs to act more “presidential”. At any rate I will vote for his record of keeping his promises he made on the campaign trail–every one of them!
I understand what you are saying about him being more presidential, but then I ask myself why should he? Would it matter at all to the left? I suspect not, He could present the perfect political hack as the liberals do and they would still hate him because he whipped their darling’s ass. I like him just the way he is, tough, a scrapper,, unafraid of a fight — in fact I do berl;ieve he loves a good fight with someone, anyone, the MSM, Pelosi, Biden, Schummer, anyone. He is unlike anyone we have ever had since Eisenhower,who was the only non-political president in my lifetime! I love hi, don’t change, stay the way you are and keep tearing down the walls of DC
I agree with you Col. I only worry about how he is perceived by other nations and how it relates to the US. is the reason for my presidential statement. Otherwise, he can have at it with any of the Dims any way he wants. I just want the popcorn concession.
I am betting that he will be more restrained Thursday night and let Ole Joe hang himself. I also think that towards the end of the debate he will turn on the Lib Chick moderator and let her have it. HA HA it could be epic.
It disgusts me who they always pick as a moderator, how about Tucker Carlson for a switch? LOL
Watching the debate was like riding a psychotic horse toward a cliff with my hair on fire. BUT then I watched it re-run later and strangely, the second time it started to come clearer and Trump made some good points and that’s when I heard Biden’s lies also. Trump is a cage fighter and that’s his nature but he was right over and over. Biden was wrong over and over. Wallace was horrible and I wish there had been a better moderator. And one more point for Jim- Trump attacked Biden’s LIVING son not the one that served and died of cancer. Trump would never go after the deceased son and would have no reason to. One good thing came from this cage match. The Hispanics called Trump a clear winner by 66% to 37%. They will all vote Trump. The left will vote for he who talks softer no matter his agenda.
This country needs a set of balls, if Joe could have put the honorable president Trump in that position what would we have seen? The gloves have been off and there’s no reason to put them back on now….to hell with the left and to hell with their lies. Trump set the pace for the race and there probably won’t be anymore debates cuz joe is not coherent. Semper fi and be safe all
Trump brought up hunter biden and the corruption because it is true and completely ignored by the msm.. For the last four years the deep state has tried to destroy Trump in every way possible.
Trump was combative but then again he was attacked in a sneaky and manipulative way and marginalized by the moderator. Wallace interrupted Trump 76 times, Biden 15, is what I have seen. When the deck is stacked against you it can cause that reaction.
Of course at this level name calling and so forth is unbecoming. Biden did insult the POTUS personally and directly. Better he roll over and show his belly like mittens.
People are ahistorical and many are barely literate and vote for their own interests. That is one of the problems with diversity. It isn’t a strength, it’s a recipe for disaster.
Reading the two platforms should be enough to decide anyway. Unfortunately most people vote on the basis of what they are told and what they see in the msm.

Totally agree Bill. Problem is unknowledgeable left winger and even some on the right vote only based on personality, not their country! Sad.
Jim: Your comments are well considered and pretty much spot on. After all of the posturing from the right, all Biden had to do to win was show up! And he did show up – in jousting mood. The behavior of both so-called debaters reinforces Pelosi’s stance that Trump is too uncouth to debate; her assessment now includes Biden!
I think the Trump and Biden succeeded in disgusting everybody but not has much as Chris Wallace. All Wallace has to do to disgust the audience is show up. – Hud

Pretty much agree with your take. But, one thought I had was that the thin sliver of undecided folks in the middle, many of whom have no clue what is really going on, will say Biden “won” just because he looked straight into the camera as he said whatever he said, regardless of how untrue or stupid those words might have been.
Agree, it was a total shame for us. After the debate I had to go back out side at 2300 with several fingers of scot5ch and another cheap cigar to get ready for bed, and even then had to take pill to get asleep I was that pissed!
