Are You Hungry?

Received this from a fellow Marine brother. It’s true, A friend who bordered my ranch north and west of me in Roscoe, MT back in the 90’s when I was learning how to be a cowboy verified this. He says the same thing as this rancher does. We’d better wake up. This doesn’t make sense at all! In fact, it’s down right stupid. Destroying animals because the middle men closed their facilities? What does a rancher do with 164 calves he had to euthanize? And we are importuning beef? Our ranchers and farmers need our help.

  1. Modt farmers are under a contract with the meat packing industry or the govt food system, so they are not allowed to do whatever they like. It’s all about the $$$. It’s a fubar system and hopefully folks wake up and realize the foolishness and dangerous ground we’ve been acustom to. Very sad indeed.

    1. Those are called “future contracts,” and they may drop to minus figures as the oil contracts did. That will destroy both the producer and the buyer. Many folks do not understand what a futures contract is and how it works, I’ll post on the blog an example for those that do not understand them.

  2. What horror. I’d give away the livestock rather then kill them for no reason.

  3. Here in the Pacific NW, its potatoes, carrots, onions, and asparagus that are on the chopping block. The Mormon Church has a rather large footprint out here and on this coming Saturday, having collected tons and tons of the crops that were going to be plowed under, are giving it away in every Mormon church parking lot in the east side of the state.
For you folks that reside in other parts of the country fresh asparagus is over $3.00 a lb in your local market, think about that for a while.
